Thai DPM:Martial law will be relaxed at right time

BANGKOK, October 8 (TNA) - The Thai government will relax martial law and other security measures when the domestic situation fully returns to normal with national reform and no underground movements. Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees national security, told journalists of the policy on Wednesday, as earlier announced by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, after chairing a meeting of the Committee to Mobilize Policy and Strategy to Solve Problems in the Southern Border Provinces at the Ministry of Defence in Bangkok. General Prawit, who is also Defence Minister, acknowledged that the interim government is putting efforts to maintain peace in the country. The deputy prime minister, thus, urged underground movements or those opposing the interim administration to cease their activities. (TNA)
