Thai government officials asked to work for public and nation

BANGKOK, April 17 (TNA) - Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has called on government officials to work for public and national interests. Yingluck made the call when she met permanent secretaries and other officials with equivalent positions at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence on the outskirts of Bangkok on Thursday morning, when she resumed her work after a long Songkran holiday period. Yingluck also thanked the senior officials for handling economic, social and political issues and asked them to help the country progress. At the meeting, the senior government officials extended their best wishes to Yingluck on the occasion of the Songkran or the Traditional Thai New Year Festival, while the caretaker prime minister, in turn, wished them good luck and career advancement.
