Thai government promotes Halal food

PATTANI, THAILAND, August 31 (TNA) - The government promotes the production and export of halal food products to, particularly, boost living conditions and quality of life of local Muslums in the Thai far South. Deputy Commerce Minister Nuttawut Saikuaon Saturday (Aug 31) assured people in the violence-plagued Thai deep South of the government's policy, along with security provided for them to improve their livelihood. The assurance was made while the deputy commerce minister was visiting the Muslim predominant southernmost Thai region, during which he talked with Muslim religious leaders and locals. The deputy commerce minister is scheduled to return to Bangkok on Saturday night. (TNA)
