Thai government to report performances Dec 23-25

BANGKOK, December 14 (TNA) - Thailand's interim government of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha will present its one-year performances, organize a relevant exhibition and offer special public services from December 23 to 25. Thai Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists on Sunday that, apart from achievements over the past year, the government will also outline its plans, covering security, economic, social, legal and justice affairs. The spokesman said the prime minister attaches importance to all areas of work that support national progress and he has, thus, assigned all ministries to present their own performances at Bangkok's Government House during the scheduled three days. The spokesman stated that the prime minister also wants all government agencies to take part in the three-day performance presentation to the public because national development requires contributions from all parties. According to the spokesman, the exhibition to be organized on the same occasion will cover serious problems before the military intervention on May 22, 2014, including aviation standard, illegal fishing, encroachment on forests and public land, populist projects that caused economic problems and the lack of farmers’ empowerment. The deep-rooted problems led to the seizure of national administration by the Thai army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and the present interim Prayut government to solve them. The spokesman noted that the exhibition will also present legislation, national reform and joint efforts by the private sector to restore economic development and true democracy. Besides, during the three-day activities, the Thai government will offer special public services outside the fence of the Government House on Nakhon Pathom Road. The spokesman revealed that the prime minister will also visit the exhibition, open his administration's official performance presentation on December 23 and close the event on December 25, followed by a New Year party organized for international journalists in Thailand and people who have contributed to the society.
