Thai government solving people's problems

BANGKOK, October 15 (TNA) - The Thai government is trying its best to solve people's problems. Army Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr assured on Wednesday that the Thai government is doing the best to heed people's complaints, but some cases need to take times to handle. General Udomdej explained that there have been a large number of people's complaints filed with the government so far and some cases need to take times to be solved because they might face legal complications. The new army chief made the remarks in response to media reports earlier in the day that a 52-year-old farmer from the central Lop Buri Province set herself on fire at a public service center located at the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) opposite Bangkok's Government House, after there has been no progress in her complaint filed on August 13, asking government authorities to help negotiate with her loan sharks. The army chief expressed his sympathy with the female farmer and hoped she would be saved, so did Interior Minister General Anupong Paojinda. According to the interior minister, a number of people have complained about informal debt problems and he will soon discuss special solutions with local authorities. (TNA)
