Thai history accessible through online media system

BANGKOK, July 11 (TNA) - Thailand's Department of Fine Arts, under the Ministry of Culture, has joined forces with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in launching an online media system to publicise Thai history, aimed at honouring Her Royal Highest Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the auspicious occasion of the revered Princess's 60th birthday anniversary on April 2, 2016. Anan Chuchote, Director-General of the Fine Arts Department, and Siwarak Siwamoksatham, Deputy Director of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) under NSTDA, jointly announced the launch of the long distance e-learning system in Bangkok on Monday. Under the joint project, information from national historical achives has been publicised online for public learning, the first long distance e-learning system of its kind to which students and people nationwide can access through the Internet and Wifi systems. Besides, the project is aimed to be a patent-free open education resource (OER) through the [http://oer.learn.in.th] website accessible as of July 11, as permitted by all parties involving in its development.
