Thai hospital to be developed as traditional Thai health hub in ASEAN

PRACHIN BURI, March 30 (TNA) - The Ministry of Public Health is seeking a state budget of some 36 million baht to develop Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital in Thailand's eastern Prachin Buri Province to become a traditional Thai health and herbal centre in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Thai Public Health Minister Dr. Pradit Sintawanarong told journalists today that the issue will be discussed at the Cabinet's mobile meeting in nearby Chachoengsao Province on March 31. According to the minister, Chao Phraya Abhibhubejhr Hospital is now a leading manufacturer of herbal products, has top services in Thai traditional medicine and has a learning centre for Thai traditional medicine, spa, organic agriculture, research centre, along with a centre for information of herbs. At present, Chao Phraya Abhibhubejhr Hospital has five groups of more than 100 herbal products, including, food, beverages, cosmetics and products for pets, on sales at domestic department stores and dealers and even exported to Japan and India, with the total sale currently standing at 300 million baht annually and being on the rise.(TNA)
