Thai junta transfers/appoints new positions

BANGKOK, June 28 (TNA) - The army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has ordered a transfer of several key government officials, while creating new positions. In its announcement on Friday evening, the NCPO said that the orders will be effective immediately but will be endorsed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej after the interim government is formed. Under the orders, Permanent Secretary for Defence General Nipat Thonglek (นิพัทธ์ ทองเล็ก) was transferred to become chief of the ministry's advisors team, Director General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Tharit Pengdit (ธาริต เพ็งดิษฐ์) was transferred to be an advisor at the Prime Minister's Office, Attorney General Atthapol Yaisawang (อรรถพล ใหญ่สว่าง ) was transferred to be an advisor of the Office of the Attorney General. Permanent Secretary for Prime Minister's Office Thongthong Changdrangsu (ธงทอง จันทรรางศุ) was transferred to be an advisor at the Prime Minister's Office, Secretary General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) Police Colonel Thawee Sodsong (ทวี สอดส่อง) was transferred to be an advisor at the Prime Minister's Office and Secretary General to the House of Representatives Suvichak Nakwatcharachai was transferred to be an advisor to the Prime Minister's Office. Deputy Permanent Secretary for Interior ML Panadda Diskul was promoted to be Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence General Surasak Kanchanarat was promoted to be Permanent Secretary for Defence, Deputy Attorney General Trakul Vinitnaiyapak was promoted to be Attorney General, Deputy Secretary General to the House of Representatives Charae Panpruang was promoted to be Secretary General to the House of Representatives, Deputy National Police Chief Chatchawal Suksomchit was promoted to be Director General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior Phanu Uthairat was promoted to be Secretary General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC).
