BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - Thailand's national reform in the second stage is focused on at least 11 issues and it needs cooperation from every sector before an implementation which is the third stage. Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha , who is also leader of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), told the public of the update during his weekly address broadcast nationwide on Friday night. General Prayuth elaborated that, in the second stage, the NCPO is concentrating on domestic political reform, anti-corruption, good governance and transparency, efficient check-and-balance on the government and others. General Prayuth expressed his hope that Thailand’s friendly countries would be satisfied with the national reform processes, saying he does not want to see allied countries limit the NCPO's constructive activities now, but allowing Thailand to continue participating in international forums as it should also offer more benefits to them. The NCPO chief pointed out that the Thai economy is among largest ones in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Thai Kingdom has played a major role in regional initiatives, while urging the friendly countries to observe improvements in Thailand after the NCPO has taken control of the national administrative power since May 22, 2014.
