Thai King to make public appearance on Dec 5

BANGKOK, November 19 (TNA) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej will make his public appearance at the Klaikangwon Palace in Hua Hin resort area of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in the Upper Thai South marking his birthday on December 5. Thai Deputy Prime Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan told reporters that the Cabinet, at its weekly meeting in Bangkok on Tuesday, acknowledged activities related to His Majesty’s birthday anniversary, scheduled by the Bureau of the Royal Household. According to the Bureau of the Royal Household, His Majesty the King’s public appearance will take place at the Ratchapracha Samakhom building in the Klaikangwon Palace to give an audience to members of the Royal Family, state and government officials and the general public. On the same occasion, royal guards will also swear their oath of allegiance to the beloved Thai King. Thongthong Chandrangsu, Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, said the government would have the event broadcast live on television and radio. Thongthong revealed that the government has also assigned public agencies to take part in an exhibition in honor of His Majesty the King at the Siam Paragon shopping center in Bangkok from December 1-10 and to participate in other activities organized to celebrate His Majesty the King’s birthday at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground in the capital on December 5.
