Thai King recovering from operation

BANGKOK, October 6 (TNA) - The Bureau of the Royal Household says that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been recovering well at Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital, after he underwent an operation to have his gall bladder removed on Sunday night. The bureau quoted the royal physician team as reporting on Monday morning that before the operation, His Majesty the King’s heartbeat quickened at times, his blood pressures were normal, his body temperatures from the evening of October 4 to October 5 remained mainly below 38 degree Celsius, but it reached 38.5 degrees Celsius once during the period. In the evening of October 5, the royal physician team, therefore, had the King stop eating and provided him with intravenous drip saline solution and a FDG-PET CT scan which revealed the severe inflammation of His Majesty's gall bladder. The revered Thai monarch later underwent an hour operation, starting from 9.45pm, to have his gall bladder removed and His Majesty the King’s symptoms then appeared satisfactory and returned to his room at 12:20am on October 6. According to the Bureau of the Royal Household's latest statement, the general symptoms of King Majesty the King has been improving, as his heartbeat dropped, his blood pressures were normal and his body temperatures fell. However, doctors provided His Majesty the King with intravenous antibiotic and saline solution. Meanwhile, Cabinet members, armed forces chiefs and their spouses wrote their best wishes for the quick recovery of His Majesty the King at Siriraj Hospital. People in provincial areas nationwide also did the same. His Majesty the King was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on October 3 for blood infection. (TNA)
