THAI to launch more routes and frequencies to several countries

BANGKOK, February 14 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, plans to soon launch new routes and more flight frequencies to several countries to attract more international visitors to Thailand this year. THAI President Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan told journalists on Thursday that the national airline's new move is aimed to support the government’s goal of drawing up to 25 million international visitors to Thailand by the end of this year. Dr. Sorajak said that THAI will increase its flight frequencies from five to seven a week to Sapporo in Japan in the winter, as well as to Russia and India. According to the THAI president, the national airline will also open many more routes to China and Myanmar, especially Mandalay. The THAI top executive acknowledged that international tourists are actively arriving in Thailand in the first quarter of this year with the cabin factor of the national flag carrier expected to reach 70-80 per cent.
