Thai man detained in Myanmar for using fake banknote

BANGKOK, January 14 (TNA) - A 26-year-old Thai man has been arrested and detained in Myanmar's border Tachileik Township, opposite Mae Sai District of Thailand's northern Chiang Rai Province, for buying goods with a fake banknote. The Thai man was reportedly apprehended by Myanmar police on Tuesday, after he bought two cartons of cigarettes with a fake 1,000-baht banknote at the Tachilek Market. The cigarette vendor then reported to the police, who later apprehended the Thai man and sent him to a custody pending further legal action. (TNA)
