Thai military bewares of terrorism

BANGKOK, December 11 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Armed Forces beware of any terrorist threat, in response to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)'s recent warning American citizens of Thailand, probably, becoming a target of terrorists. Supreme Commander General Worapong Sa-nganet confirmed on Thursday that Thai security agencies have kept a close watch against terrorism in the country, suggesting the public not to be worried. General Worapong insisted that Thailand remains a safe destination for international travelers, saying that it is normal for the United States to warn American citizens abroad to be careful of terrorism. Asked about a US report on the CIA's secret prison in Thailand and whether or not the report would make the Kingdom become a target of terrorism, the Thai armed forces chief told journalists that the Thai military has had no information on the issue. The Thai government has also denied all knowledge about the existence of the rumoured CIA prison, where prisoners, particularly Muslims, have been reportedly treated beyond legal limits. (TNA)
