Thai Mourners Pay Tribute to Late King

BANGKOK, Oct 21 (TNA) - Thai mourners in many provinces join activities to pay tribute to late King Bhumibol Adulyadej who died last week. Over 3,000 people gathered at the provincial hall of Nan province for special event in remembrance of the king who had worked hard to improve people’s livelihood. They recalled 22 times the king had spent his time taking tours in the province. The first trip dated back to 1958. Since then, numerous royally-initiated rural development projects had been established by the ninth king of the Chakri dynasty. In Kalasin, provincial attorneys showed their respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej by forming the shapes of heart at the attorney office. The people of Kalasin also are deeply gratified of His Majesty’s love for the people. The King visited the northeastern province many times to initiate rural development projects. At a royal project in Phetchaburi, over 5,000 civil officials, students, military officers and religious leaders also showed their deep gratitude towards the King. Participants at the event pledged to follow the King’s guidance. They formed the shapes of heart and Thai number nine, depicting the ninth king of Chakri Dynasty. Phetchaburi has been another recipient of His Majesty’s love and care; it is home to over 20 royal projects. In attending the symbolic event, the participants pledged to follow His Majesty’s guidance and instructions. (TNA)
