Thai narcotics police hold massive suppression Tuesday

BANGKOK, Nov 3 (TNA) - Anti-narcotics police will hold a new massive operation to suppress retail drug dealers and addicts across Thailand starting this Tuesday, aimed to stop drug use, especially among teenagers in Thailand, said Pol. Gen. Pongsapat Pongcharoen, secretary-general of Narcotics Control Board (NCB) office. He said of the 82,037 communities identified at risk, either because their residents are drug traffickers or addicts, 16,408 communities require immediate police suppression due to a large public outcry, while another 24,611 communities require medium level surveillance. He added that the remaining neighbourhoods at risk only need to be monitored on general terms. (TNA)
