Thai navy heroes honoured

SAMUT PRAKAN, THAILAND, January 17 (TNA) - A ceremony was organised on Saturday (Jan 17) to honour Royal Thai Navy heroes who have sacrificed their lives to protect the people and national sovereignty. Thai Navy Chief Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich presided over the ceremony and put a wreath at a Royal Thai Navy monument in Bangkok's neighbouring Samut Prakan Province, while also making merits to pay tribute to the navy heroes. The navy chief said the annual event is significant, as all navy officers have an opportunity to, once a year, pay respect and honour all the Thai navy heroes who have bravely sacrificed their lives for the nation, including those fought for the nation in the WWI and WWII, as well as those fought with insurgent groups in the Thai far South, aimed to restore peace for local people and the nation.
