Thai PM arrives in Paris for COP21

PARIS, November 30 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has arrived in Paris to attend the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21), set to be held in the French capital from November 30-December 11, 2015 and participated by leaders of about 150 countries worldwide. The Thai prime minister has been prepared for COP21 and has ordered agencies concerned to study the reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions without seriously affecting local industries. The concerned Thai agencies have been assigned to study ways to cut GHG emissions in the country by 25 per cent, instead of 20 per cent currently, without any serious impact on local industries. At COP21, scheduled to kick off at 11am (local time) or 5pm (Thailand's time), the Thai prime minister would confirm Thailand’s cooperation with the international community to protect human beings from climate change and to work out a law which would replace the Kyoto Protocol by the end of this year.(TNA)
