Thai PM has busy schedules in November

Bangkok, Nov. 3 (TNA) – Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Saturday that she would have busy schedules this month and have to travel overseas to attend meetings with government leaders. Reiterating that she would perform her duty for the benefit of Thailand, Miss Yingluck said during her weekly television and radio address that she would meet and confer with visiting European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso. The visit shows that European countries have attached importance to Thailand and are confident on economic development this country is achieving, Miss Yingluck said. Next Monday and Tuesday Miss Yingluck will attend the 9th Asia Europe Meeting in Laos and will meet more than 49 government leaders during the meeting and will inform them on her government’s stance on current European economies as well as plans by her government to expand trade and investment with those countries. Miss Yingluck said she plans to travel to the Indonesian resort island of Bali next Wednesday and Thursday to attend the Bali Democracy Forum which would reaffirm that the Thai government would administer the country through upholding the democratic system. After that she is scheduled to travel to London and confer with her British counterpart David Cameron. Business leaders from more than 50 firms are expected to accompany her in a bid to widen trade and investment between the two countries. In late November, Miss Yingluck said she would attend the 21st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Cambodia, aimed at strengthening relations with fellow members, as the ASEAN Economic Community implements in 2015.
