Thai PM inaugurates 71st session of UNESCAP

BANGKOK, May 28 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has inaugurated the 71st session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), being held in Bangkok from May 25-29. Delivering a speech at the inaugural session of the 71st UNESCAP, themed "Balancing the Three Dimensions of Sustainable Development:From Integration to Implementation", on Thursday, the Thai prime minister expressed his support for the topic, which refers to the balance in economic, social and environmental development in the region. The Thai leader stressed that all countries must join forces to reduce poverty and inequality in the region. According to the prime minister, Thailand has a national goal to achieve security, prosperity and sustainability by 2020. (TNA)
