Thai PM insists not to dissolve the House nor resign

BANGKOK, November 19 (TNA) - In response to the opposition’s attempt to file a no-confidence motion against her administration, Thai Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra insists that she will neither resign nor dissolve the House. Yingluck told reporters on Tuesday that there is no reason for her to do so, as her government is able to maintain national order. The Thai premier pointed out that frequent changes of the government will affect the continuation of national administration and concerned parties should, rather, join forces to create confidence in the Kingdom. The prime minister said, however, that her government is ready to cooperate with the opposition camp's examination of its work and a censure debate is a good chance for people to know about the government’s performance. Meanwhile, House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont demanded that the opposition send him copies of its impeachment motions against the prime minister and Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan within 4.30pm on November 21, acknowledging without the copies, the House Speaker would be unable to guide topics in a no-confidence debate and a censure motion is considered as incomplete. Somsak cautioned if the oppostion failed to send the copies within the deadline, its no-confidence debate might not happen in the present House session, which ends on November 29. (TNA)
