Thai PM invited to attend 3rd ACD summit in Iran

BANGKOK, May 16 (TNA) - Visiting Iranian Vice President Mohammad Bagher Nobakht has invited Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha to visit Iran later this year to attend the 3rd Summit of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Tehran. The Iranian vice president, who is visiting Thailand during May 11-16 to attend the 74th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), held at the UN Conference Center in Bangkok, extended the invitation while meeting with the Thai premier at the Government House in the capital on Wednesday, notifying that the 3rd ACD Summit will be held in the Iranian capital in October. During the meeting, the Thai prime minister said his government has followed up the updated situation in the Middle East, expressing his hope that Iran and other countries participating in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would have a sound way out eventually for the sake of the security stability of the international community. On the occasion, the Thai leader also asked Tehran to take care of Thai people and business operators in Iran. (TNA)
