Thai PM Leaves to Attend Singapore’s National Day

BANGKOK, August 9 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha left Bangkok early Sunday for Singapore to attend that country’s 50th anniversary of National Day. Representing His Majesty the King and the Thai government at the celebration, Gen. Prayut just nodded his face when asked by journalists gathering at the military airport that he would wear red shirt during the celebration of Singapore’s 50th anniversary of National Day. Several foreign leaders are expected to attend the celebration. They include Sultan of Brunei, president of Indonesia, Duke of York of the United Kingdom, prime ministers of Cambodia and New Zealand. Thailand and Singapore are currently members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Gen. Prayut is scheduled to return home late Sunday. (TNA)
