Thai PM meets Chilean President on APEC summit sidelines

VLADIVOSTOK, September 8 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra held bilateral talks with Chilean President Sebastian Pinera in Russia's far eastern Vladivostok City Saturday morning local time on the sidelines of the ongoing 2012 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and related forums. Yingluck told journalists after the talks that she and the Chilean leader mainly discussed on progress of the proposed Thai-Chilean free trade agreement (FTA). According to the Thai prime minister, the proposed Thai-Chilean FTA is likely to be concluded and signed by either late this year or early 2013, under which Thailand's producers and exporters of automobiles and parts and household electrical products, as well as operators in the local service sector are expected to particularly benefit from the new bilateral FTA.(TNA)
