Thai PM stresses cooperation with NZ, Papua New Guinea

BANGKOK, March 30 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says New Zealand is willing to, among others, extend technical cooperation to Thailand; while Papua New Guinea wants to boost tourism cooperation with the Kingdom. Speaking during her weekly TV and radio programme on Saturday, Yingluck told the public of her official visits to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea from March 21-25 that she had an opportunity to study agricultural technology, fishery and dairy farming in New Zealand, which could be adapted and added value to Thai products, acknowledging that New Zealand is also prepared to offer technical cooperation to Thailand. Yingluck noted that her recent visit has also strengthen relations between Thailand and New Zealand in several areas, including trade, tourism, education and energy, as the two countries have agreed to boost mutual trade. Touching on her official visit to Papua New Guinea, Yingluck revealed that the African country has requested for food technology cooperation with Thailand; while she also discussed ways to boost tourism, as well as the possibility of expanding Thailand's investment in natural gas and infrastructure projects into Papua New Guinea.
