Thai PM to visit China Sept 2-3

BANGKOK, August 29 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to visit China from September 2-3, 2013 to attend the China-ASEAN Expo, as invited by Beijing. Yingluck on Thursday extended her gratitude for China's invitation her to visit the China-ASEAN Expo when she welcomed Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Ning Fukui, who paid a courtesy call on her at Bangkok's Government House. Yingluck also said that she expects to meet her Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang to seek his support for Thai rice, pasteurized milk and natural rubber, declaring that Thailand is also ready to support Chinese investment projects in the country, as the Thai government wants to boost bilateral cooperation on trade and investment and implement exchange programs with China at government and civil levels. The Chinese top envoy noted that during the current tenure of Prime Minister Yingluck, the partnership between Bangkok and Beijing has been growing comprehensively and he expects both countries to continue developing their cooperation on trade, investment, education and cultures. Besides, the Chinese ambassador praised Thailand, as a member country of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), for promoting relations between China and the 10-member bloc. (TNA)
