Thai PM to visit Mongolia

BANGKOK, April 26 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to visit Mongolia from April 27-29 to attend the Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracy, after joining in the ASEAN Summit 2013 in Brunei Darussalam from April 24-25. Rattikul Chansuriya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs under the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told journalists on Friday that Premier Yingluck was invited to deliver a speech at the Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracy. Rattikul acknowledged that the Thai prime minister's speech will be emphasized on the simultaneous development of people and economies, the promotion of women’s roles and education on democracy and justice. Besides, Rattikul said, the Thai premier will have bilateral talks with her Mongolian counterpart to enhance relations and to boost trade and investment between the two allied countries, as well as to discuss Thailand's plan to import raw materials from Mongolia. According to the senior official, there will be the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Thai and Mongolian governments on mechanisms for bilateral cooperation, an MOU of the Thai and Mongolian private sectors and an MOU of the Thai Ministry of Science and Technology and the Mongolian Ministry of Education and Science on scientific and technological cooperation. The senior official revealed that 29 business operators from the Thai mineral, energy, agricultural, medical, education, automobile and parts and banking sectors who will accompany Premier Yingluck will also explore their business opportunities in Mongolia, be briefed on business regulations there and attend a business matching session.
