Thai PM to visit Russia in May 2016

BANGKOK, February 12 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut will visit Russia in May 2016 to attend the Russia-ASEAN Commemorative Summit. Deputy Government Spokesman Major General Werachon Sukondhapatipak told journalists of the schedule on February 11, as Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will celebrate their 20th summit anniversary during the period. The deputy spokesman said Thai Deputy Prime Ministers Prawit Wongsuwon and Somkid Jatusripitak will first visit Russia later this month to pave the way for the strengthening bilateral cooperation in all dimensions between Moscow and Bangkok, including the agricultural, fishery, fishing and energy sectors. According to the deputy spokesman, the Thai prime minister also invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to officially visit Thailand in 2017 when both countries will celebrate the 120th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
