Thai PM to visit Singapore June 11-12

BANGKOK, June 5 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is scheduled to pay a two-day official visit to Singapore from June 11-12, 2015, aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the island state and Thailand, covering the military and security spheres. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn, who is on an official trip to Singapore from June 4-6, told journalists of the Thai prime minister's planned visit to Singapore on Friday, after he paid a courtesy call on Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. General Tanasak said during the Thai prime minister's trip to Singapore next week, he will confer with the Singapore side on bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially on trade and investment. According to the Thai deputy prime minister and foreign minister, the Thai prime minister is also expected to seek Singapore's cooperation on buying more Thai rice and fruits, as well as on tourism promotion. Besides, the Thai prime minister will meet with Thailand’s sepak takraw teams competing in the 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games, now hosted by Singapore from June 5-16. (TNA)
