Thai PM visits provincial areas

BANGKOK, July 10 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is visiting Prachinburi province in the Thai East and Nakhon Nayok province in the central region on Wednesday to inspect local development projects. Accompanied by her entourage, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na Ranong and Interior Minister Jarupong Ruangsuwan, Premier Yingluck, who is also Defence Minister concurrently, started her one-day field trip in Prachuburi, where she visited the Rojana Industrial Park to see progress of the construction of a new manufacturing plant of Japan-based Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co.,Ltd., set to be complete and to start its full operation in April 2015 with its production capacity of 120,000 vehicles annually. The prime minister then traveled to Nakhon Nayok, where she inspected the Khun Dan Prakarnchon Dam, a royal project initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to relieve floods in the Nakhon Nayok Basin, and its surrounding areas planned to be developed into a new tourist destination called, "Khun Dan Land". The prime minister was later briefed on the project, included in the provincial strategic development master plan, from Nakhon Nayok Governor Surachai Srisarakham, before heading back to Bangkok.
