Thai PM visits SKorea for ASEAN-SKorean Summit 2014

BANGKOK, December 10 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is visiting South Korea from December 10-12 to attend the ASEAN-Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit 2014 in Busan. Accompanied by his entourage, including his wife, Naraporn Chan-ocha, Prime Minister General Prayut left Bangkok for Busan on Wednesday morning. The Thai premier will first participate in the 2014 ASEAN-ROK CEO Summit on December 11 and the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit on December 12. The Thai prime minister will also meet South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Brunei Sultan Haji Sassanal Bolkiah. The Seoul Chamber of Commerce and Industry organizes the CEO summit on “Innovation and Dynamism: A New Takeoff for ASEAN and Korea” and its chairman, Yongmaan Park, invited the Thai prime minister to deliver a speech on Global Economic Outlook and the Role of Asia in the CEO summit and also invited 100 Thai business operators to the session. On the occasion, the Thai leader will also urge ASEAN-ROK partnerships in potential areas, especially those among their businesses and will also present Thai economic policies and measures, including those concerning solutions to trade obstacles and the promotion of border, digital and green economies. The ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit 2014 under the theme “Building Trust, Bringing Prosperity and Sharing Happiness” celebrates the 25th anniversary of relations between 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Korea. Thailand will push for ASEAN-ROK cooperation on economic affairs, trade and investment, cooperation among their people and the promotion of South Korea’s roles in supporting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.(TNA)
