Thai PM welcomes Suu Kyi

BANGKOK, June 24 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha welcomes visiting Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and Minister for Foreign Affairs and her entourage at Bangkok's Government House on Friday afternoon. Discussions between the Myanmar and the Thai leaders were set to focus on bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries on labor, as well as development and connectivity projects. On the occasion, the visiting Myanmar state counsellor and minister for foreign affairs and the Thai prime minister are expected to witness the signing of bilateral pacts on labor cooperation, employment and border crossing, before holding a joint press conference and attending a dinner reception, hosted by the Thai prime minister. The Myanmar state counsellor and minister for foreign affairs, who is also a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is paying a three-day official to Thailand, scheduled for June 23-25, as the guest of the Thai government, After her arrival in Thailand on Thursday, the Myanmar state counsellor and minister for foreign affairs first visited Myanmar migrant workers in Bangkok's neighboring Samut Sakhon Province.
