Thai PM:NACC does not have double standard

BANGKOK, February 26 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha stresses that the National Anti-Corruption Commission neither has a double standard nor tries to persecute any single party, but basing its work on facts, evidence and witnesses. Prime Minister General Prayut told journalists on Thursday that any party who could prove its innocence, would be, therefore, cleared. In response to former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's earlier remarks to have him as a defence witness in a case against the ex-Democrat premier's crackdown on red shirt demonstrators in 2010, as alleged by NACC, Prime Minister General Prayut insisted that he is ready to enter the justice system and he may provide written information, instead of a verbal testimony, because the law permits that. The prime minister noted that the case against Abhisit would not affect the Royal Thai Army because soldiers had followed orders and always recorded their operations. (TNA)
