Thai PM:Stricter security measures are not demanded

BANGKOK, June 15 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha says there is no need to intensify security measures for him, as he is confident in the current safeguards provided for them. The prime minister told journalists of his stance on June 14, stressing if there was any incident, he could take care of himself because he is a soldier who knows about self-defense. The prime minister made the remarks after a woman was able to approach him at Bangkok's Government House. The prime minister insisted he was not worried about the approach of the woman, who moved close to him before Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, and considered her a person who needed government help, not anyone with ill intention. "It was not a big issue because she was a complainant who properly exchanged her identity card for a pass card to enter the Government House. I am confident in security officers who already have their security procedures. The incident today shows that the security measures can block any close encounter with me. There is no need to intensify security measures,” the prime minister maintained. (TNA)
