Thai PM:There are no unusual clues in Bangkok

BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says that security authorities have not found any unusual clue in Bangkok, but she has ordered the Royal Thai Police to intensify measures at important places. Speaking to reporters on Friday morning, prior to her departure for official visits to Sri Lanka and the Maldives from May 31-June 3, Yingluck said that people can be relieved, as security authorities have not found any clue of unusualness in the Thai capital, but only rumors, urging the public to consider information carefully. The prime minister asked people not to forward online rumor messages on any untoward incident in Bangkok, as the Royal Thai Police has already dismissed it as baseless and has warned that people who are found guilty of disseminating such false messages will be fined up to 100,000 baht each or face a jail term of up to five years each, or both. The prime minister made the remarks after a bombing in Bangkok's Ramkhamhaeng area in the Thai capital last Sunday. Regarding a latest video clip the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) insurgency movement posted online on May 29, the Thai premier noted that she has ordered security authorities to check its content. According to the prime minister, peace restoration attempts have reached the ongoing negotiation process between the Thai government, through the National Security Council (NSC), and representatives of insurgent groups, led by the BRN, and it is good for all parties to agree with the protection of the innocent in the violence-plagued Thai far South.
