Thai PM:Three documents were announced at Asian-African Summit 2015

BANGKOK, April 24 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha says that three documents have been announced at the Asian-African Summit, organised as part of the Asian African Conference (AAC) 2015 and related forums, hosted by Indonesia from April 19-24, with the Asian-African Summit alone set from April 22-23. Prime Minister General Prayut, who returned to Thailand on Thursday afternoon after participating in the two-day intercontinental summit, told journalists that one of the three documents is the Draft Bandung Message 2015:Strengthening South-South Cooperation to Promote World Peace and Prosperity, in which mutual intent in promoting South-South cooperation through the bridging of Asian and African nations to stronger partnership in political, security, economic, trade, social and cultural dimensions is expressed, aimed to achieve peace, prosperity and sustainable development, as well as to eradicate poverty, and address regional and global challenges. The Thai prime minister stated that another document is the Declaration on Reinvigorating the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP), in which mutual intent in strengthening NAASP as a mechanism to connect Asia and Africa, as well as to expand and improve cooperation framework to bring the partnership to the next level is expressed, along with the Spirit of Bandung, which will be reinvigorated as guideline for future cooperation between Asia and Africa. The Thai premier revealed that the last one is the Declaration on Palestine, in which mutual intent in supporting the process toward the independence of Palestine is indicated. The Thai leader stressed that Bangkok also supports the peace process in the Middle East through the United Nations’ resolution and hopes that a direct negotiation will be resumed soon. The Thai prime minister noted that he also held bilateral talks with leaders of many states on the sidelines of the Asian-African Summit, including Indonesia, Jordan, Tunisia and the State of Palestine.
