Thai police arrest two more drug suspects linked with Lao drug lord

BANGKOK, February 2 (TNA) - \Two drug suspects, linked with the network of a Lao drug lord, Xaysana Keopimpha, have been arrested in Bangkok and their assets, worth more than 200 million baht, have been seized in joint police and soldier operations. Deputy National Police Chief Police General Chalermkiat Sriworakhan and senior officers from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau announced at a press conference on Thursday that the two Thai suspects, Nutthapol Nakkham and Arunya Singpangad, were arrested during recent search operations in 39 areas in Bangkok and other provinces when their assets, worth over 200 million baht, were also seized, including big bikes, cars and illegal drugs. Narcotics Suppression Bureau Chief Police Lieutenant General Sommai Kongwisaisuk told the press confernece, meanwhile, that the joint team also searched at the house of the husband of a pregnant Thai actress, after the evidence showed that he was also, probably, linked with the network of Lao drug lord Xaysana Keopimpha, who was arrested at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport last month. The officers did not find the suspect at the house but the police seized some pistols, ammunition and cars. Lieutenant General Sommai acknowledged that the suspect, who possessed the assets of arrested Nutthapol, member of the Xaysana drug lord for selling, has not yet been convicted but he may involve in money laundering processes, urging the suspect to report to the police to clarify how he got the suspicious assets. According to the police, some entertainment figures and high-society people also allegedly involved in taking care of the assets of the Lao drug lord in Bangkok but further details cannot yet be disclosed.
