Thai police extradite foreign criminal suspects to US

BANGKOK, November 20 (TNA) - Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police, under the Royal Thai Police, have extradited five foreign criminal suspects to the United States. CSD Commander Police Major General Supisal Pakdinaruenart and CSD commandoes on Tuesday brought the criminal suspects, including Britons Phillip Shackels and Scott Stammer, Slovak Alexander Inu, Philippine Allan Kelly Perata and Taiwanese Ye Tiong Tan Lim, from Bangkok's Klong Prem Central Prison to the CSD to undergo their extradition process and then sent them to their flight to the United States for prosecution, as requested by Washington. The CSD commander said the US chartered flight received the five criminal suspects at Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport, where the flight departed at noon on November 19. CSD commandoes earlier arrested the five, together with a former US soldier, Joseph Hunter, in Thailand's southern resort Phuket Province, where they were hiding. According to the CSD commander, the ex-US soldier was extradited previously. The foreign suspects were charged with involving in the trafficking of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin, and other serious crimes committed in the United States and many other countries.
