Thai police nab drug traffickers

BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - Narcotic suppression police have arrested a Malaysian man and a Thai man with nearly 150 kilograms of heroin, destined for Australia, in Ranong Province in the Thai South. Thanks to a tip from the Australian police, the Thai authorities arrested the Malaysian man, identified as 40-year-old Yi Yong Ho, and the Thai man, 40-year-old Krisana Meenant, at Pitsmai International Trading Services Co on Rattanakosin 200 Years Road in the Bang Rin locality of Ranong's Muang District on Tuesday night, while they were packing 420 bars of heroin, weighing altogether 147 kilograms, in frozen fish boxes. The Australian police earlier informed their Thai counterpart that the two men would smuggle the heroin from Thailand to Australia and the price of the illicit drug would exceed 3 billion baht if it reached the Australian black market.
