Thai police nab traffickers with over Bt300m drugs

BANGKOK, May 2 (TNA) - Police raided a house in Navamin area Wednesday, seizing some 1.02 million methamphetamine pills worth over 300 million baht supplied from the Thai North. National Police Chief Police General Priewpan Damapong told reporters that the illicit drugs, together with some 1.4 million baht cash, were seized from two suspects, Channarong Jomboonruang and Krisanatorn Pataranonwongsa, who were arrested at a house in Phrueksa Town Freeway housing estate on Navamin 111 Road in Bung Kum district, and that about 920,000 speed pills were found in a bedroom on the second floor of the house and 100,000 pills were kept in a white Honda Civic car. According to the national police chief, the two male suspects said that they had received the narcotics, originated from a neighboring country, from the Thai North, and that they were hired 100,000 baht per trip to transport the drugs and they would transfer money from drug trafficking to over 100 bank accounts of a Myanmar man identified as Sai and other accomplices.
