Thai police probe cause of fire at Chachoengsao’s Toyota plant

CHACHOUNGSAO, THAILAND, December 24 (TNA) - Police are speeding up investigating the cause of a fire which broke out at a Toyota spare parts centre in Thailand's eastern Chachoungsao province Sunday night. The police inspected a building where a large oil depot, chemical warehouse and a parking garage for forklifts are located inside the spare parts centre of the Japanese giant auto producer in Chachoengsao's Baan Pho district on Monday morning. Chachoengsao Deputy Governor Bandit Teweethiwarak, meanwhile, has ordered the closure of nearby public water drains to prevent any chemical leak. The deputy governor has, however, instructed an immediate probe of any contamination as a precaution, based on water samples collected from water sources inside and surrounding the centre, and a medical check-up for people in the neighbourhoods, provided by provincial public health officials.
