Thai Princess receives WIPO Award

BANGKOK, August 3 (TNA) - The World Intellectual Property Organizaiton (WIPO) will present the WIPO Award for Creative Excellence to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn late this month for her intellectual property in many fields and copyrights of more than 350 works. Thai Commerce Minister General Chatchai Sarikulya told journalists on Monday that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will grant an audience with WIPO Director General Francis Gurry in Bangkok on August 27, 2015 for the award presentation. The minister proclaimed that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is the world's first princess to receive such the honorable award, which is a pride of Thailand and all Thai people. According to the commerce minister, the WIPO Award presentation happens auspiciously in the year of the fifth cycle birthday anniversary of the beloved Thai princess. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn holds copyrights of 354 works, including prose, poetry and drawings. Besides, the revered Thai Princess values the protection of local wisdom and has created the highly-successful "Phufa" brand of her royally-introduced products. (TNA)
