Thai Red Cross invites public to donate blood on Halloween

BANGKOK, Oct 30 (TNA) -- Thailand's National Blood Donation Centre under the Thai Red Cross Society, is encouraging healthy individuals to celebrate Halloween by donating blood through the centre's project of "Halloween 2015, Let's Give Blood!". The Halloween, which falls on every October 31 and is marked by many countries around the world, is usually celebrated in Thailand through parties and festivities. However, the blood donation centre pointed out that, while most people could enjoy the fun activity, many patients waiting for treatments could still be in need of blood. The centre has then come up with the project to invite the public to do good deeds and donate blood on Halloween, to ensure that all hospitals nationwide would have enough blood reserves for patients. Interested participants could join in with the project on October 31 at the National Blood Donation Centre on Henry Dunant Road in Bangkok from 8.30am-3.30pm, local time. Since it is Halloween, all of the staff would dress up as ghosts and the venue would be turned into a Halloween town, where visitors could enjoy the spooky atmosphere and take photos. Those who donate blood would also be given a special key ring, the "blood devil', to take home as a souvenir. (TNA)
