Thai South welcomes 19 int'l couples for undersea weddings

TRANG, THAILAND, February 12 (TNA) - Nearly 20 Thai and foreign couples have arrived in Trang Province in the Thai South, amid a very warm welcome, for their undersea weddings, marking St. Valentine's Day. Trang Governor Detrat Simasiri and his delegation warmly received the 19 bridal couples at the Somdet Phra Srinakarindra 95 Park in Thab Thiang Sub-district of Muang District on Friday. All the 19 couples make the highest record this year of the number of couples having undersea weddings in the annual event in Trang. On February 12, the 19 bridal couples are scheduled to plant 49 teak seedlings to support a plant conservation project of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, visit Trang's first cake shop in Lam Phura Sub-district of Huai Yot District and have their wedding party at Thumrin Thana Hotel at night. On February 13, the 19 bridal couples will dive for their undersea marriage registrations off Koh Waen in Kantang District, where 20 old locomotives and carriages were previously sunk to create a coral reef, now becoming the first “undersea Andaman train station” of Thailand and an attractive dive site with beautiful marine life.
