Thai Stateman extends condolences on Lee Kuan Yew's passing away

BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - Thailand's Stateman General Prem Tinsulanonda, who is also Privy Council President and a former prime minister, has extended his condolences on the passing away of Singapore's first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew. General Prem signed his name and wrote his message of condolences for Lee's passing away on March 23 at the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok on Thursday morning. General Prem later told reporters that the Singapore first prime minister was a good friend and during his tenure as a Thai prime minister, he and Lee were very close and helped each other. The Thai Statesman also praised the Singapore late founding father, expressing his view without Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore never becomes a prosperous nation like it is now. The Thai Stateman called on Singapore people never forget their late great leader but carrying on what their founding father has laid out for them. Earlier this week, Their Majesties the King and Queen conveyed royal condolences to Singapore on the demise of the founding father of the island state. (TNA)
