Thai Transport Co to organise free rides for Mother's Day

BANGKOK, August 8 (TNA) - The Thai Transport Co, Ltd is set to launch the 'Transport Co Take Out Mom' project, giving mothers and their children to ride the provincial buses for free from August 12-31, 2015 in honour of HM Queen Sirikit's 83rd birthday anniversary. Acting Managing Director of Transport Co Nopparat Karunyawanich said as August 12 is the birthday anniversary of HM the Queen of Thailand and in honour of the Queen this year, the Transport Co. has decided to organise the 'Transport Co Take Out Mom' project, where mothers traveling with their children would be able to ride the provincial buses for free. But only the mother's ride fare would be waived, starting from August 12-31. Those interested to participate in the project could do so, by bringing their mothers or children, as well as present their ID at the ticketing booth at all bus stations nationwide. The free rides are eligible for all types of provincial buses, except for those running along the egde of the city for a distance under 100 kilometres. This offer could not be combined with other special discounts. Mr Nopparat mentioned that apart from providing the chance for the kids to take out their mothers around the country, the scheme would also help boost domestic tourism and economy, along with encourage more family bonding.(TNA)
