Thai workers seek employment security from government

BANGKOK, January 28 (TNA) - Workers from Thailand's central Ayutthaya Province rallied in front of the Ministry of Labour in Bangkok on Friday, demanding official measures to protect their jobs. The 200 Thai workers of Lapis Semiconductor Co, led by the National Congress of Thailand Labour, said over 900 workers of the flood-affected company have been in troubles, as they do not know whether their firm will resume its production and they have heard that their employer may lay off all workers at the end of this month. The workers said that they, therefore, want the labour minister to secure their jobs. The firm is located in the heavily-flooded Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya. (TNA)
