Thai youths win silver and bronze medals at IMO 2014

BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) - A group of Thai students has, again, brought reputation to the nation by winning silver and bronze medals at the 55th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), held in Cape Town, South Africa, from July 3-13, 2014. The Thai students from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School, Trium Udom Suksa School, Mahidol Wiittayanusorn School and Bangkok Christian School, arrived home on Tuesday morning amid a warm welcome by thier relatives, friends and Assistant Director of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) Pornchai Intharachai. Among 560 students from 101 countries, the Thai students won four silvers and two bronzes from the 55th IMO. The Thai team's total score was ranked the 21st at the IMO 2014, together with the Iranian team. Thailand was, meanwhile, selected to host the 56th IMO next year at Chiang Mai University in the northern Chiang Mai Province. (TNA)
