THAI:All passengers at Karachi airport are safe

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, has confirmed that all its nearly 300 passengers were safe at terrorist-targeted Karachi airport in southern Pakistan on Sunday night, three of them are Thais. Regarding armed militants' attack at the Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's southern Karachi City at about 11pm (local time) on June 8, THAI issued a statement on Monday, saying that all its 296 passengers were safe and were accommodated at the airport. THAI stated that local authorities closed the airport for 24 hours, causing THAI's TG508 Flight from Muscat via Karachi to Bangkok, which was scheduled to depart the Karachi airport at 11:50pm (local time), not to be able to take off. According to the national airline, all the 296 passengers and 16 crew members of the Airbus A330 plane were accommodated at secured reception rooms of the Karachi airport. (TNA)
