Thailand’s north-bound train services resume operation

BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) – Thailand’s northern-bound train services have resumed operation after suspension caused by a derailment in Phrae province Wednesday. The services resumed at 12 p.m. Thursday after workers had successfully retrieved all seven derailed carriages, under supervisions of State Railway of Thailand (SRT) governor and SRT executives. More than 30 people were injured when the Bangkok-Chiang Mai train of the SRT derailed in Denchai district. On Wednesday, Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt said poor condition of the tracks combined with bad weather might have caused the train derailment. (TNA)
